Tracy Chapman (innate March 30, 1964) is an African American singer-songwriter, best known for classic singles "Fast Car," "Talkin' Bout a Revolution," & "Give Me One Reason."

Cleveland-born Chapman began playing guitar & writing songs as a tike. She received the scholarship across [http://www.abetterchance.org A Better Chance] that allowed her to attend Wooster School in Connecticut, and was yet accepted to Tufts University in Boston. Chapman began street-performing & swimming cafe within Cambridge &, when waiting to graduate college, she signed to SBK, releasing Tracy Chapman (1988). the album was critically acclaimed, & she began touring & building a fanbase. Before long when performing at Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday person, Chapman's "Fast Car" began its rise on the U.s. stock and index charts. Album & singles sales were heavy, & a album went multi-platinum, too when winning quatern Grammies.

A watch-higher, Intersection (1989) was less successful. By 1992's Matters of the Heart, Chapman was playing to the microscopic & devoted audience. To the surprise of virtually all industry-watchers, but, Chapman's 1995 album New Beginning involved a hit only "Give Me One Reason" (1995) which won the 1996 Grammy for Right Rock Song. A ensuing album was 2000's Telling Stories, more the rock healthy than folk, hit individual "Telling Stories" was heavy airplayed in European radios. Her sixth album was Let It Rain (2002) for which she toured around Europe & a United states in 2003.

"Where You Live", her seventh studio album, was discharged around September 2005. a brief supporting tour took place around major cities through the U.S. around October, to exist as continued throughout Europe on top a remainder of the month.
